Happy Friday!

In case you forgot, I’m that guy (@thekoerneroffice on the socials) that you probably found in a short form video talking about random business ideas or from one of the podcasts I’ve done. Chris Koerner: Dad of 4, husband of 16 years and proud Texan. I’ve started 75+ business (3 worth over $10m) and give away all of my learnings for free in a once/week email. Okay, let’s get into it.

Fable Is Back Online! Three weeks ago, Anthropic released the most capable AI model the public has ever gotten their hands on- called Fable 5. Three days later, the U.S. Commerce Department sent Anthropic a letter and forced them to shut it down worldwide- for everyone, including their own employees. That kind of export control had never been used on a piece of software before. It's the same legal category the government uses for fighter jets and nuclear material.

But as of two days ago, July 1st, Fable is back online. Very few people have figured out what to do with it yet.. and that gap is where the money is. I want to walk you through what actually makes this model different, then I'm going to give you real, specific ways to use it to make money this month..

Why This Model Is Different From Every AI You've Used So Far

Every AI tool you've touched up to this point is smart for a few minutes, maybe hours, at a time. You ask it something, it answers, and the moment the task gets long or complicated, it starts losing the thread. You end up babysitting it.

Fable was built to work without that babysitting. Give it a real job with ten steps, and it plans the work, executes it, checks itself, fixes its own mistakes, and hands you a finished product. It can run for hours. Days without problems. The magic isn't that it's smart. Every model out now is smart. The magic is that you can walk away from it and trust the output enough to put your name on it and sell it. If you want to dive deeper into the possibilities with Fable, watch my YouTube episode on it.

His Business that Worked: AI-Built Websites for Local Businesses, Sold as a Marketing Retainer

A few examples make this real. Stripe tested it on a fifty million line codebase that needed an overhaul, a job that would normally take a team of engineers two to four months. Fable did it in a day. A physics researcher ran it against an unsolved frontier problem and got nearly as far in thirty six hours as a top competing model managed in four days. That's the caliber of tool that just came back online, and most business owners still don't know it exists.

Five Ways To Make Money With This:

1. A legacy system migration. There are agencies charging thirty to seventy thousand dollars to move companies off ancient software onto something modern, and the job can run into six figures because it's tedious and slow for a human team. Fable can do this kind of migration largely on its own. Use a tool like BuiltWith or Outscraper to find businesses still running outdated systems, and don't overlook your own employer or a small local business running QuickBooks Desktop instead of QuickBooks Online. That's a real starting point, even if the check is smaller. There are so many businesses that know they need to update, they just don’t have the bandwidth or time to do so. You’ll be the hero they have been waiting for.

2. An overnight financial cleanup. Small businesses fall behind on their books constantly, and it usually costs them three thousand five hundred to ten thousand dollars to get caught up. It's miserable, tedious work, which is exactly why almost nobody wants to do it.

With Fable, you drop in the bank statements, spreadsheets, and receipts at the end of the day, let it reconcile everything overnight, and deliver a clean set of books by morning. Bookkeeper Facebook groups are full of people turning down this exact kind of overflow work because they hate doing it manually. You don't need a finance background to fill this gap for people- they’ll be thrilled with a fast turnaround and a decent process.

Real quick: your newsletter, podcast, website, and digital products can now all live in one platform that takes 0% of your earnings. beehiiv now hosts podcasts natively, helps you sell digital products, lets you offer webinars and coaching sessions, and connects to Claude through their MCP so AI can see what your audience actually engages with.

Also- beehiiv has a major announcement coming July 16! I can't say more yet, but you won't want to miss it. RSVP here!

3. A productized service agency. Think about a one person design studio charging five thousand dollars a month per client and capping out because one person can only do so much design work in a day. (I interviewed a guy named Brett making up to 200K a month offering design work for companies) Fable could be the team that someone like Brett would never had to hire.

You can do something similar with a tool as powerful as this- just pick a service, standardize the offer so a client can only have one request in the queue at a time, and let the model do the production work while you manage quality and relationships.

4. Deep personalization- at scale. A generic sales email always will underperform a personalized one, but most companies skip real personalization because doing it by hand takes too long. Fable can pull eight to twelve pieces of relevant detail into every email it writes. You can offer this to businesses that already have an email list they're not using well. It doesn't need to be a huge company. A gym or a med spa with an email list and no strategy is a perfectly good first client. Show off a personalized email or two and offer your services.

5. Building small digital assets that maintain themselves. There are people running portfolios of tiny websites- directory sites, niche review sites, local guide sites, etc. Each one earns somewhere between three hundred and three thousand dollars a month on its own, mostly from ads or affiliate links. No single site is making you rich by itself. You don’t want to stop at one; build five, ten, sometimes dozens of these things, and the income stacks. Fable can build these sites and keep optimizing the ones that are working, checking analytics and search data and fixing weak spots without you sitting over its shoulder every day. The hardest part historically has always been the bottleneck: keyword research, content, technical fixes, watching analytics to see what's working. Fable removes that.

Pick one niche with search volume and a clear buyer: movers, home inspectors, photographers. Build the site, get it indexed, point it at affiliate offers or local lead gen. Once it clears four hundred dollars a month, start the next one. Not every site will work- that's fine. Five sites at five hundred dollars a month is twenty five hundred dollars a month, and that's the conservative case.

Pick one of these five, or pick a version that fits something you already know. Choose one niche, one offer, and get moving immediately. If you're worried about relying on a single tool, that's a fair instinct. This model already got shut off once without warning, and there's no guarantee that couldn't happen again. Treat Fable as the engine, not the whole business. Build the offer and the customer relationships around it so the value survives no matter which model you're running underneath. This will just be a very quick, powerful kickoff.

The government basically just told us that this is the most capable software ever released to the public. Most people are going to read that as a reason to stay away. But that's backwards- it's a signal telling you exactly where to look. And again, if you’re inspired to learn more about Fable and all that you can do with it, go watch my full episode on YouTube.
