Good morning! It’s Monday this time!

That’s right, I’m moving this newsletter from the weekend to Monday. Why? Because I don’t like working on Sunday, and I always procrastinate writing this until Sunday. So yesterday I said ENOUGH! I’m sending on Mondays from now on.

Newsletter gurus will tell you not to send on Monday because I’ll compete with every other email in your crowded inbox on Monday, but who cares? If this is good you’ll open it anyway. And if it isn’t good then it doesn’t deserve to be opened, regardless of the day its sent.

He still has a ways to go, but we already have great data. For one, only about 1/3 of people are even answering their phone. Crazy, right?

So far, exactly 10% of tree trimming companies are interested in outsourcing to us. I’m enthused by that! If you remember from a couple weeks ago, my estimates are based on closing 5% of the market.

That means we still have to close those 10%, but it also means there’s 90% left to keep grinding on.

And what about landscapers? Not so much! I’m less enthused by that, to be sure.

“You either win, or you learn.”

So far, we’re learning.

How is everything else going right now?

Mining Syndicate

Somewhat of a dumpster fire right now. Mining profitability is lower than its ever been and we are ALMOST done outsourcing all of our hosting operations to 2 companies. In about a month we should be all gravy, but right now it’s been a lot of stressful calls and a couple of sleepless nights.

Do yourself a favor and never start a company in the crypto space. Feast or famine is a tough way to run a business!

Stealth 1

I haven’t been more excited about a project for years. And no, this isn’t me just hyping something up so I can sell it to you eventually. This isn’t a business that would ever make sense to promote to my audience. It’s going incredibly well though.

Stealth 2

Still early, but also looking promising. This is more of an agency play.

Fast Tree Care

June was our best month ever! Our outbound strategy is now slowly converting into inbound leads and referrals. It took a freaking year though! I have been distracting James with Stealth 2 above and he’s been doing a great job. This business could be a lot bigger if we focused more on it.

RV Park Stuff

Going really well! We are selling our small RV park in Waco and have a few people interested in buying it. The bigger parks I’m buying with my Blue Metric partners are humming nicely. I just sourced a new park in Montana that will compliment our other park quite nicely.

Sunbeam Paws

I delivered my first frozen dogs to the incinerator last week - twice! I needed to fill in for a couple employees that were out. I’ll tell you what, it sure was an interesting experience lifting a still-warm 165 pound husky out of a deep freezer all by myself.

We are in the process of acquiring more customers and have been profitable from week 1.

I just talked about our unique strategy with this biz in today’s podcast. The YT will be live this evening but the audio is already up.

Texas Snax

Going super well! Every month is YoY growth. Very predictable and stable. My partner moved here from Utah to run it and it’s been great seeing him more often.

Content Stuff

My podcast had a slow June, which was a bummer because it had been growing so nicely. But I was also on vacation for almost all of June so that definitely played a role.

This month I have been hitting it hard and the growth is back on. As of tomorrow I’ll officially be monetized on youTube, which is a cool milestone even though it only means I’ll make like $200/month to start.

I started a YT so I could simply publish my podcast episodes, but it has since taken on a life of its own and is actually really fun. July will be my best month yet, with over 1,000 new subs added and over 2,000 July watch hours.

If you didn’t attend my business idea validation livestream, the edited version is here. It’s on track to be my most watched video yet. And it was a ton of fun!

I also released an interview with the master high ticket flipper of all time, Shannon Jean. He flips luxury handbags and watches, and is also a super cool idea machine!

Personal

I installed a culvert and a dirt road on my property over the weekend. I had to rent a skid steer and a dumpster to make it happen. You know I asked those guys all about their biz when I did!

Ok, I gotta go get a vasectomy now. Wish that were a joke. Don’t worry, I’m gonna ask the doctor what his margins are, too. Will report back.
