knowledge

You can’t take action until you build a knowledge bank from the right resources. That’s why you’re reading this right now!

One of the questions I’m most often asked is “What are you favorite business books?”

The 6 books below literally changed my life. But don’t just read them, promise me you’ll do 1 thing:

If and when you read something that excites you and gives you energy, promise me you’ll put the book down right then and there and go take action.

Because that feeling is fleeting. And we don’t want to fall into the trap of “Ever learning, but never coming to a knowledge of the truth.”

Or in other words “Ever reading, but never actually launching a business or changing a habit.”

I had to scrub out dozens of favorite books to whittle it down to these 6. Here they are and why I love them so much:

  • 3 Signs of a Miserable Job - It’s a very easy to read parable about a man who retires to Lake Tahoe, only to buy into a failing restaurant and turn it around. It teaches so many timeless lessons about managing people.

  • Delivering Happiness - From the late founder of Zappos, this book is the best thing I’ve ever read about building a business on customer service.

  • Can’t Hurt Me - Not technically a business book, but it helped my businesses immeasurably and inspired me to go from obese to ultramarathon champion in less than a year. He uses pretty rough language, which isn’t my favorite, so i linked the clean edition. I just now bought it for my 14 year old son!

  • Never Split the Difference - The best book on negotiation that you’ll ever read.

  • Profit First - This book broke my frame on how I should manage money within my business and changed everything for me.

  • Traction - Hands down the best overall book I’ve ever read on scaling a business in a sustainable way.

And as a bonus, these are my 6 favorite free newsletters for business, investing and life:
