Your 1st Million Could Be One of These Ideas

Happy Monday!

Okay, so I have had a crazy last week. Codie Sanchez came over to our house to film, I had a major launch (that I will share more about soon), and I’ve been fighting with YouTube after they suspended my long form content for no reason... but luckily it’s finally back up!

This is newsletter #101 so let’s kick off this next hundred newsletters with a classic list of out of the box business ideas you can take, get inspired by, and use to go make yourself money. It’s all based on a conversation I had with my buddy Nik just going down business rabbit holes- real businesses that exist right now, making real money, that most people have never even considered.

If this is something that resonates and you want to dive into further, we’ve got a few more ideas in this episode that you can go watch or listen to in its entirety here: YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts.

Okay here are five ideas that came out of that conversation. Some are businesses you can copy. Some are frameworks you can apply. All of them will get your wheels turning:

  1. Weddings as a Service

There's this guy in Fort Myers, Florida. Started with $20,000. Does $3 million a year now.

His business: Gulf Beach Weddings. But here's the twist. He doesn't own a venue. Not a single square foot of property. He just knows every beach in Florida. Which ones need licenses, which ones have the best sunset angles, which ones are too windy or covered in seaweed.

You want a beach wedding? Give him three grand. He handles everything. Chairs, arch, photographer, the works. He's doing hundreds of weddings a year without the overhead of a million dollar facility.

This isn't just about beaches. Think about it. National parks. State parks. Scenic overlooks. Anywhere beautiful outdoors. You become the expert who knows all the spots, all the permits, all the logistics. You're the middleman between couples and their dream location.

Two thirds of all weddings are outdoors now. Ten years ago it was 40%. The trend is clear.

Want to do this? Google the most popular outdoor destinations in your state, call the parks department to learn the permit process, and call a few rental companies.

You could have your first wedding booked in 30 days.

  1. Movie Props and Experiential Tours

The Breaking Bad house in Albuquerque sold for $4 million earlier this year. Fair market value? Maybe $600,000. The other $3.4 million was pure brand value.

Some guy bought Rico's van from Napoleon Dynamite on eBay for $12,000. Now he rents it out to superfans. He also bought the DeLorean from Back to the Future. Same deal. Rentable movie props that hardcore fans will pay premium prices to experience.

And you don't need iconic Hollywood props. Every state has landmarks from beloved shows or movies. Every city has locations people want to visit.

The Breaking Bad house gets so many visitors that the previous owners complained for a decade about their lack of privacy. Instead of monetizing it, they just whined. The new owner paid $4 million because they saw the opportunity. Tours. A museum. Advertising on the roof for planes flying overhead.

One entrepreneur I know lives in the LAX flight path. He advertises his buddy's business on his roof. It's worth hundreds of thousands in revenue per year from that specific link visible only from planes.

Find the iconic locations in your area, research who owns them or what props are available on PropStore.com, and build experiences around them that superfans will pay big money for.

Newsletters are the best way to build an audience.

Instagram changes the algorithm? My reach dies. YouTube bans my account like they did last week? I had no power to get mycontent out there.

But email is one of the few channels I actually own... With beehiiv, no algorithm decides who sees my content. I hit send, my audience gets it. Every single time. And I've been using beehiiv for 2 years. The creators who survive platform changes are the ones who own their audience. They're building something that compounds over time.

Get 30% off three months when you use beehiiv.com/chris! Stop renting attention. Start owning your audience.

Also, pretty cool: in less than six weeks, beehiiv is unveiling the biggest news in their history at their first-ever Winter Release Event. November 13th, they're showing what's next.

The details: Thursday, November 13th at 1-2pm EST. RSVP here!

  1. Goats Solve Expensive Problems

We found that, in California, fire departments pay $28,000 per acre for manual brush clearing.

Goats? They'll do it for $500 to $1,000 per acre.

Oakland, California spends half a million dollars a year on goat grazing for wildfire prevention. One city. Half a million dollars. And this isn't just a California thing. Every state needs land cleared. Homeowners with overgrown lots. Municipalities managing parks. Developers prepping sites.

And you don't need to own the goats.

Go to Facebook Marketplace right now. Search "boer goat" in any rural area. You'll find dozens of farmers with goats just sitting around. Borrow them. Play middleman. Charge $500 an acre, pay the farmer $200, keep the difference.

The market is massive and underserved.

Search Facebook Marketplace for goat farmers within 50 miles, call three of them this week to see if they'd rent their herd out, and run a test Facebook ad targeting homeowners with acreage.

  1. Drive a Tank

There's a business in Minnesota called Drive a Tank. You show up, drive actual tanks, crush cars, shoot machine guns. Packages range from hundreds to thousands of dollars.

They've been around since 2012.

Meanwhile, there's a similar business in Orlando that got featured in Mr. Beast and Dude Perfect videos. I guarantee they're crushing it.

This isn't just about tanks. It's about creating experiences that tap into something primal. Breaking stuff. Blowing things up. Living out action movie fantasies.

Could this work in Texas? Idaho? Georgia? Absolutely. You could start smaller. Just focus on shooting cool guns. Build from there.

The barrier to entry is knowable regulations and equipment. The market? Every guy who's ever watched an action movie.

Start by calling your local shooting range and asking if they'd partner on a premium experience package, then post it in local Facebook groups to gauge interest before investing a dime.

My franchise consultant buddy Connor Groce and I are hosting a live webinar breaking down what makes a franchise worth buying in 2025. No corporate pitch deck. Just real talk about what actually works.

We will be covering: how to spot a dud franchise before you waste six figures, Connor's 3-legged stool framework for evaluating deals, the biggest mistakes first-time buyers make, and so much more.

It’ll be one hour long and super tactical. We're doing Q&A at the end, so bring your questions. Register here. You’ll get the recording after the event.

  1. The Unclaimed Baggage Monopoly

Okay last idea: after 90 days, all unclaimed airline baggage in America goes to one place. One reseller in Alabama.

They get 5,000 to 7,000 pieces of luggage every single day. Over a million people visit their store annually. They've sold Rolexes and 40-carat emeralds well below retail. They've had this monopoly since 1970.

But think about the framework. What other forgotten or discarded assets could you aggregate and resell? Rental car companies. Hotels. Airbnbs. School lost and founds at the end of every semester.

There's no system for this stuff. It's just getting tossed or sitting in boxes. Someone should fix that.

Call three property management companies in your city and offer to buy their abandoned Airbnb items in bulk for cash, then flip them on Facebook Marketplace to start.

Here's What You Do Next

Pick one of these ideas.

Call five potential customers. See if there's demand. Look at Facebook Marketplace. Check what competitors exist. Run the numbers.

Most businesses fail because people never start. They overthink. They wait for perfect.

Perfect doesn't exist. But profit does.

Again, if you want to dive into further, we’ve got tons more ideas in this episode that you can go watch or listen to in its entirety here: YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts.

Get out there and take action. Everything is figureoutable.
